It means Roman will no longer be carrying around separate WWE and Universal Titles, instead being presented with fresh gold. Unveiled on SmackDown, the new championship isn’t a big departure from the previous designs, as it still features the WWE logo as the centrepiece. However, in a twist the logo is more of a black design, with the background itself a solid gold rather than the blue or black used with its predecessors. Before unveiling the title, Triple H said On behalf of the WWE, and on behalf of the entire WWE Universe, I would like to congratulate you on surpassing 1,000 days as champion – something that hasn’t been accomplished in WWE in almost 40 years. It truly is epic. Meanwhile, the reveal of a new title comes days after Seth Rollins became the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion representing Raw by beating AJ Styles in the tournament final at Night of Champions. While the Undisputed WWE Universal Title is very much wrapped up in Roman and The Bloodline’s saga, Seth and AJ both made it clear they wanted Raw’s title to be for the workhorses of the company. That certainly looks set to be the case as The Visionary has had an open challenge accepted for Money’s show and will put the gold on the line against The Judgment Day’s Damian Priest.
